The Fighting Lion is based on the Chinese Lion located in Tiananmen Square Beijing, China with early stories depicting the lion to have mythical protective powers. Lions have traditionally stood in front of imperial palaces, emperor tombs, and homes of the wealthy dating around 206 BC - AD 220 Han Dynasty.

The unique Fighting Lion trophies, Golden Lion plates, and new Acrylic awards will serve as The Award bestowed upon champions in their respective adult and youth divisions. All Black Belt divisional winners will receive a custom made Fighting Lion for their 1st place victories. All Under Black Belt divisional winners will receive beautiful 7" Golden Lion plates for their 1st place victories. Divisional winners in weapons and forms will have an opportunity to compete in the Under Black Belt Grands. All competitors will receive an award.
